Upon entering my 30's this year, I’ve gradually made small updates to my life, down to the everyday objects I surround myself with. With this overhaul came a long-term fixation on finding the perfect teapot to service my tea addiction. I wanted an object that was functional, but felt sculptural sitting on my counter and in my hands. After a deep dive, this screenshot was the winner. Ironically, my friends gifted me a strikingly similar one for my birthday before I pulled the trigger!

That deep orange always “sings” for me. It instantly takes me to my grandparents’ old house on Long Island, where my family spent summers growing up. It was so 70’s and filled with that specific deep shade of orange, so anything that color feels like it already belongs to me!

On your Buy Again on Amazon.

I’m addicted to NUXE body oil. It smells delicious, and it’s a great little luxury to incorporate into your bedtime routine.

The Memo
PS It's cheaper in Paris!

A random iPhone Note you have and its contents.

I have a running list of spicy dinner table questions I’ve been accumulating for years. The note in its entirety is way too long (and sacred) to share, but here are a few recent favorites:

Would you rather know a little about a lot, or a lot about a little?

What would surprise your childhood best friends about your life today?

What are three inanimate objects that could bring you back from the dead?

A color combination lighting you up.

Chartreuse is always calling my name, and I’ve also found myself leaning into deep browns and reds—though that might be Fall speaking. My color fixations tend to be seasonal but if I’m being honest, I’m constantly going back to a classic black and white combo.

The Memo

My closet? Mostly B&W. My favorite accessories? B&W. I also have a love affair with B&W photography. This is the art nerd in me speaking, but I think when you strip away color, you're forced to really appreciate the design itself. It’s more impressive to “wow” someone with black and white only than to lean on color as a crutch, although color can be fun too.

Plus, it's just effortlessly chic and classy.

What is on your browser bookmark bar – or a tab open today?

The Memo

Today I’ve been tracking an online art auction. My bookmark bar mostly consists of online publications I like to browse over my morning coffee, a couple favorites being ArtNews, The Strategist/The Cut, and Cultured Mag.

CAN WE SPY ON YOUR LATEST INSTAGRAM SAVES?

It’s mostly art, with a side of Kelly Rutherford mirror selfies, jewelry, and interesting interiors.

How do you remember things?

Memory is such a mysterious part of our brains! I can’t tell you details from yesterday, but I can recall the most random memories, like outfits I wore to birthday parties in high school and exact wall measurements in my clients’ houses. I guess this means I’m a visual learner!

I function in a state of organized chaos. My iPhone camera roll is my visual journal, art research bank, portfolio, to-do list, and essentially an extension of my brain. The notes section in my phone is also quite extensive. For concrete to-do’s and notes, I have a physical notebook I use.

A pro tip: the prettier the notebook, the more inclined you are to actually use it.

Recipe you have written down or flagged in a cookbook.

The Memo

My mom’s legendary chocolate chip cookie recipe. It’s my best secret weapon!

Quote from a book you have highlighted.

A favorite Mary Oliver poem:

I don’t want to be demure or respectable.

I was that way, asleep, for years.

That way, you forget too many important things.

How the little stones, even if you can’t hear them, are singing.

How the river can’t wait to get to the ocean and the sky, it’s been there before.

What traveling is that!

It is a joy to imagine such distances.

I could skip sleep for the next hundred years.

There is a fire in the lashes of my eyes.
It doesn’t matter where I am, it could be a small room.
The glimmer of gold Böhme saw on the kitchen pot
was missed by everyone else in the house.

Maybe the fire in my lashes is a reflection of that.
Why do I have so many thoughts, they are driving me crazy.
Why am I always going anywhere, instead of somewhere?
Listen to me or not, it hardly matters.
I’m not trying to be wise, that would be foolish.

I'm just chattering.

What do you want people to remember about you?

I always take mental note of people who I feel energized by, or “seen” after spending time with and try to emulate qualities of theirs.
