Memoir

If there was a single litmus test into how I choose my Memoir guests, it would be whomever takes the most real estate in my Screenshot album.
For a long time, Meg Busacca has been at the top of that short list.
I believe my first virtual run-in with the creative guru was during the pandemic. Her handmade masks were, by far, the most beautiful on the market, and I was equally captivated with her handpainted match boxes. It was instantly clear creativity ran through her blood.
Meg is not like the next follow. She's bold in design and ideas.
She thinks deeply and doesn't shy away from sharing these thoughts. Her daughters, Colette and Pernille, have the great fortune of growing up in she and her husband's color-rich, pattern-drenched, collected Connecticut home. And all of us? We have the joy of following along online. While we wait for what promises to be a wonderland with BUSACCA, her Instagram and Substack are sure to satisfy any penchant for one-of-a-kind products and considered living.
Show us one of your latest screenshots. What made it sing for you?
Can't get enough of this wall mural, the ceiling paint details, the stone wood burning fireplace, the chartreuse lampshades!
A screenshot so good, I had to see more!

The absolute BEST canned tomatoes that I am constantly restocking in our pantry -- Bianco DiNapoli
Meg and her husband constantly inspire in the kitchen with beautiful homemade meals.
A color combination lighting you up as of late.
I'm really diving in on teal and red lately..this is a mock moodboard I put together on a whim for our upcoming dining room refresh.

I have a few projects I'm planning for my own studio in the new year and I just love seeing other creatives' studio/study/office spaces. This rich, perfect shade of blue is my favorite color and I've always had a massive classic pin/mood board of my own. I enjoy seeing desk details, stacks of books, florals and was really happy to see a tapestry draped over the work surface.
An old Pinterest pin that makes you squirm.
I still use Pinterest all the time and I think what I love most is discovering vintage clothing labels, product logos and fonts. Historical textiles! Old book covers! Antique Buttons! Vintage fashion editorials! Ohhh the hours I've spent on Pinterest...
I'm just an absolute lover of all things with heritage, the handmade artistry, identifiable craftsmanship, and heartfelt detailing of a bygone era.
It's rare to find a brand with the kind of spirit I seek these days..

I was just making some holiday purchases and had to snag the latest new set of party hats from Cambridge Imprint!
How do you remember things?
I journal about my life and our girls in Antoinette Poisson diaries that I leave on my nightstand. I write out my to-do list on a daily basis and John Derian notepads keep me inspired to do so. I also purchase a yearly planner every Christmas as well as keep important deadlines, meetings, appointments, travel details, etc. in my Google calendar. Ah, and multiple phone alarms!
Tell me about a memorable gift you have given or received.
My husband recently surprised me with this BDDW puzzle painting in honor of the recent birth of our second daughter, Pernille.
It even looks like her!
We've had our eye on these paintings by Tyler Hays for years and this one is just perfect. It is a symbol of Motherhood that I will cherish forever.
What is one of your most memorable shopping / clothing experiences to date?
My Dad and I share a mutual interest and love for shopping. We appreciate and respect a uniquely curated shopping experience, especially in a classic department store throughout the years and the feeling you get when you find special, high quality pieces or when you discover an unknown artisanal fashion brand. I have such fond memories of shopping with him throughout the years, I couldn't name just one!
Quote from a book/article/some kind of literature you have highlighted / saved.
I was incredibly moved by this excerpt from Ralph Lauren in his latest coffee table book.
"Your children become an expression of yourself, of your dreams."
-Ralph Lauren
What do you want people to remember about you?
That I was kind. And thoughtful. That I went above the norm in a meaningful way to make other people feel good, to make life a bit more beautiful.
