Memo No.022

I think this is one of the more underrated NYT Games. My strategy is to try to tackle the trickiest letters (X, J, Z, Q, etc.) first.
I'm sort of a skeptic when it comes to skincare...
And I definitely try to keep things to a bare minimum while expecting. The earthmama Belly Oil makes for a great nighttime serum that I know is pregnancy safe.
I also just ordered my first Primally Pure products and will report back. I'm most excited for this mask.
The ultimate dinner time saver from TJ's. I keep both the garlic and ginger pods stocked and turn to them when there's no time for mincing and peeling. We also usually have ginger shots on hand which can be helpful to boost that flavor on Asian dishes.
I found the crown of my head getting greasy after a hair wash and decided to do some due diligence on a shampoo x conditioner solution. I wound up with K18's duo from this report on WhoWhatWear and haven't had the issue since. It's not a clean product per se, which I try to abide by, but my hair feelssss clean which is all I can ask for for now.
We haven't watched a show this gripping since maybe 2016's The Night Of?
I went in excited as a fan of the 1999 Gwenyth Paltrow/Jude Law/Matt Damon film but somewhat skeptical of the black and white cinematography and Netflix production. It exceeded every expectation, and I'm super hopeful for a second installment.
How I can pretty much guarantee laughing from any of @loxsmith_ videos.
I tried these this fall and found them to taste fresher than CHOMPS.
We are Jovial loyalists, and these egg noodles (made with just two organic ingredients) taste like fresh pasta.
The literal tiny joy of adding a sticker to a text blurb.
Another fascinating stat on the miracle of childbearing...
“So when you have an embryo in your body, as it grows, it leaves genetic material in your body — and it stays in your body, they think, like for your entire lifespan…It happens even with babies you don’t bring to term through loss.
Also, this is totally anecdotal but my acupuncturist who I really trust…told me that children who are born after their mother has experienced loss grow up to be caretakers. Like they’re doctors or nurses…she’s seen this over and over in her practice.”
A tiny two-suite hotel in Paris.
How grateful I am to have documented many notes to my Dad on my phone.
These days, I'm more likely to just put pen straight to paper when writing a birthday card note. But in my twenties, I often logged what I planned to say in my Notes app in case I needed to tweak it at all.
My dad passed away this summer, and I was able to find many of the Father's Day, thank you and birthday letters I had written him over the years as I grieved his imminent and eventual loss. Re-reading the words he knew I expressed comforted me greatly and has me reconsidering adding this rough draft step back into my snail mail process.
