Those who keep a pulse on fashion are likely familiar with the necklace pictured above.
It's the piece that makes this otherwise ordinary outfit something to notice, is it not? Designers Juju Vera Studio and Julietta made major waves this year with these signature styles, and I was constantly struck with the looks that included their pieces. Instead of impulse purchasing these specific products, I paused to consider why they packed such a punch.
It's not the material -- most necklaces are silver or gold. It's not the chain -- most hang on a very simple, casual cord. The oversized nature of the pendant, I came to realize, is what distinguished this accessory from others. Layers of necklaces had their moment in time, but it seems the jumbo, singular, pendant is 2025's jewelry icon.
